We can help you through the process and meet with you at one of the ICT public access points in the area if you would like some help to register and get a directory entry. To date just under 800 people have signed up to become a member.

The Wansbeck Sporting Champions Fund and Knox Disabled Sports Fund has been formed by Wansbeck District Council and Wansbeck Initiative to enable sports participants of all ages to attend regional, national and international events including training camps. This would provide individuals the opportunity to reach their full potential and possibly reach a major championship representing their country! The region's voluntary and community sector stars were honoured last night (Thursday 30 October) at the 2008 North East VCS Awards held at the Quayside Exchange in Sunderland.
Amongst the award winners was Declan Baharini, Wansbeck Initiative Manager, who won the Sector Champion of the year award. She was presented with an award by Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson. The awards recognize the work of individuals and Voluntary and Community Sector organisations from across the region, in helping to develop our communities.

The road safety charity Brake have created a special event for Early Years children supported by FREE resources. Beep Beep! Day can help you kick-start your road safety learning and can run on ANY day of the year. It provides an opportunity to teach simple lessons, such as holding hands and the word "STOP", while children do fun activities, such as using ride-on toys on a marked route in a secure playground or hall. You can also help raise valuable funds for Brake and our work supporting families bereaved by road crashes.
