In this section the Regeneration Team of Wansbeck District Council will try to keep information up to date in this ever changing topic area. In this section information is provided on funding opportunities; strategies and plans; programmes; statistics; and projects that are either in place or planned to help regenerate the District.
There is the desire to establish Wansbeck as a place that is prosperous; safe; outward looking; attractive to live and work, but most of all an environment in which all members of the community can achieve their potential and enjoy a better quality of life. The regeneration of the District has come a long-way in recent years: environmental improvements, new housing, investment in community facilities and business developments. There remains however much more work to be done.
In our approach to regeneration we need to be positive and creative yet realistic in our aspirations. We all have a role to play in improving our quality of life and need to work together to tackle complex and long lasting challenges and create a lasting improvement to our lives. That is why Wansbeck District Council is seriously committed in partnership with other public agencies, voluntary organisations, private businesses and communities to improve our neighbourhoods and make real positive changes to local residents lives. Central to the regeneration process is the Wansbeck Initiative Partnerships commitment to engage the community in this process.
